Swedish Rare Earth Treasure – Europe Finally Independent?

The largest European treasure trove of rare earths to date was discovered last week in the northern Swedish mining town of Kiruna. To date, these commodities, which are needed to build cell phones, electric motors and wind turbines, have come almost exclusively from China.

When the first calls regarding the one-million-ton deposit came in last Thursday evening, we reacted immediately.
